Course Description:
This course is designed for English learners who are interested in improving their language skills in all four disciplines simultaneously (listening, speaking, reading, writing). The overall programme is divided into three course modules (B2.1, B2.2, and B2.3) which can be studied in any order. In this module, B2.1, the topics covered are personality, education, business and work. Grammar topics covered in this course include a review of the difference between simple and continuous for the present, present perfect and past as well as relative clauses. This blended-learning programme combines classroom learning with extended language practice online using both moodle and MyEnglishLab from Pearson.

Course Objectives:
• Improve proficiency in all four language areas: listening, speaking, reading, writing.
• Gain confidence speaking English in groups.
• Master key speaking skills such as giving opinions and negotiating.
• Practise writing skills such as an opinion essay.
The goal of this course is to provide students with the necessary skills and confidence to understand and communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
Prerequisites:
This course is suitable for students who have already obtained a B1 level of proficiency in English.
Assessment:
This is a blended-learning course. Assessment will be based on a combination of online assignments and a final written exam.

Course Materials:
Students will need to purchase access to MyEnglishLab from Pearson. Purchase of a physical or e-book (New Language Leader – Intermediate) is recommended but not required. More information will be provided in the moodle room.
